From Dull Office to Bright, Textured Contemporary Haven

This full room makeover is a beautiful example of how smart design choices can completely shift the mood and function of a space. What was once a dark and uninspiring office has been transformed into a bright, textured, and contemporary haven—perfect for focus, creativity, and everyday calm.

Light & Texture to Lift the Space
To brighten the room and bring it to life, I introduced white textured wallpaper on three walls. This subtle texture catches the light and adds dimension, helping the space feel airy and open without being flat or sterile.

A Bold Contrast Wall
The transformation is grounded by a dark grey window wall, which adds depth and drama without overwhelming the space. The rich tone blends seamlessly with a custom window blind and a same colour window sil, creating a polished and cohesive feature that anchors the room.

Natural Touches & Pops of Colour
I added natural-effect shelving, styled with curated décor pieces and pops of colour to bring warmth and interest. These open shelves are both practical and decorative—displaying favourite objects while keeping the space visually engaging.

Final Thoughts
This once-overlooked office is now a space that feels both fresh and functional—perfect for working from home, thinking clearly, or simply enjoying a beautifully styled room. Thoughtful use of texture, contrast, and natural accents made all the difference in turning a dull space into something truly inspiring.

I love the wall light as it's not wired but uses a rechargeable light bulb.  This gives you the freedom to have wall light fittings without the hassle of re-wiring.  The light bulbs are remote controlled and can be dimmed and also be used as a warm or white light.
