Cloak room
From New Build Basic to Industrial Chic
Even the smallest spaces in a home deserve thoughtful design—and this cloakroom makeover proves just how impactful a few bold choices can be. What began as a plain, new-build cloakroom is now a stylish, industrial-inspired space full of texture and character.
Textured Walls with Suede Effect
To set the tone, I introduced suede-effect textured walls—a finish that adds depth and a soft, tactile quality. It instantly warms up the space while creating a moody, high-end look that contrasts beautifully with sleek modern fittings.
Exposed Brick Accent
The room is finished with an exposed brick-effect feature, bringing an urban, industrial edge to the design. This detail not only adds texture and interest but gives the space a strong focal point without overwhelming its compact size.
Streamlined Fixtures for a Sleek Look
I also swapped out the standard toilet and basin for a full integrated unit, offering both style and practicality. The clean lines and minimal profile of the new fittings help the room feel more cohesive and considered, while also making better use of the space.
Final Thoughts
This cloakroom has gone from forgettable to bold and beautiful, proving that small spaces are the perfect canvas for making a statement. By layering industrial textures with smart design choices, I've created a room that’s functional, stylish, and full of personality.
Favourite Element
The brick effect feature is something that really finishes this room. What was initially supposed to go on the fixture wall, the client then changed their mind. With this, there was't enough to fill the wall, so it was made to look unfinished which I think gives it so much more personality.
